Miles Away(Acoustic)- Memphis May Fire ft. Kellin Quinn

Matty Mullins, front man for Memphis May Fire, dug deep and poured out his true feelings for the lyrics to the band's song Miles Away, which featured Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens. The song was originally on their album Challenger (released in 2012) and quickly became a favorite of the fans. Months later, on August 1, 2013, the band released an acoustic version of the song accompanied by a music video. The video focused on Matty, switching from shots of him singing in front of his fans having the time of his life and him singing in sorrow on the tour bus to shots of him on tour, lonely, sad, just missing something. The video also shows Kellin singing during his part of the song. What many might miss during the part where Kellin sings is a faint female voice singing along with Kellin. This was a very creative and clever idea. The female voice does not ruin Kellin's voice or his part in the song, but in a way it enhances it. The song tells of Matty's struggle between missing his wife on tour as well as being filled with sorrow for that reason and having great joy in seeing his fans and helping them through their own struggles. Kellin's part in the song is more of what seems like the female, or Matty's wife's, side to the story being told within the song, so putting the female voice under Kellin's voice enhances the story; it gives it more of the feel that it is Matty's wife coming through into the song instead of Kellin. The whole video is done perfectly. The effects added to the video makes it feel like a personal video and gives it a calm feeling and it is not too flashy, so you can actually focus on the story being told through the lyrics. Everything just seems to fit together and matches to create the sorrowful but comforting mood of the song. The shots match the song perfectly. I could not have asked for a better video to go with such a powerful song.
